Pride Abrasive 3000/8000 Grit Combination Water Stone

Pride Abrasive 3000/8000 Grit Combination Water Stone

The Pride Abrasive 3000/8000  Water Stone gives you two of the most popular grits used to put a polished edge on knives and tools.
It is very reasonably priced and is the best value we've ever seen for a high quality water stone in these grit ranges.
The 3000 removes steel at an exceptionally fast rate. It is by far the fastest water stone we've seen in this grit range. We have never seen another stone is this class remove steel as quickly yet still leave such a nice polish. The Pride Abrasive 8000 is a finishing stone. It provides a finished edge for most chefs and woodworkers and is the most popular grit used for putting a final polish on knives and tools. Like the other Pride stones, it removes steel at a very fast rate yet hard enough that it retains its flatness well. The 8,000 grit cuts faster than a leading Japanese manufacturer yet provides the razor sharp edge you expect from a 8000 grit stone. Pride Abrasive combination stones are well priced, sharpening quickly, and leave an edge you expect from a premium water stone.
They are in a class with high grade Japanese waterstones like Sigma and Shapton Glass Stones.  They perform better than Norton, Bester/Imanishi, Chosera and cheaper imported stones.
Having sharpened with every major brand of water stone, we can say the Pride water stones deserve to be classed with the best of them. Their combination of speed, durability and finish is as good or better than any we have used.
They cut premium tool steels like A2, D2, O1 quickly and their finish is what you should expect from their given grit level.
Like any good water stone, they should be soaked in water for 10-15 minutes prior to use.
You will not be disappointed with this water stone. Made in Bristol Wisconsin, USA.
