Wicked Edge Model Comparison
Updated 8/1/26
Let me start by saying that all the Wicked Edge Models will get your knife sharper than you ever imagined. Which model is best for you is really a matter of personal preference. The Wicked Edge Sharpener is available in 4 basic models and 2 Pro Packs. The Pro Packs include one of the basic models plus the popular 800/1000 grit diamond hones and the 5/3.5 micron strops.
All models come with the newer ball-jointed guide rods and will sharpen knives with blades up to 15" long.
Wicked Edge Basic Models
The 4 basic models are the Model 40, 60, 130 and Gen 4 Pro.
The Wicked Edge Carbon (Model WE40) is the newest model. It is lightweight making it easy for travel yet strong enough to handle any sharpening task.
The main difference between the WE40 and the WE60 is that the body of the sharpener is made out of carbon (as the name implies) while the WE60 is made out of aluminum. The Standard Vise Law allows easier lamping on fully flat ground and distally tapered blades frequently found on kitchen and pocket knives. The WE40 can be mounted to a work surface through the predrilled holes in the base. We also give you the option to buy it with a base or you can simply make your own base out of wood. The Wicked Edge Carbon (Model 40) includes the following features:
    Price: $199
  • Include 200 and 600 Grit Diamond Stones
  • Guide Rod Length - 8.75 inches
  • Max Blade Length - 15 inches
  • Angle adjustment to any increment from 13 to 31 degrees
  • Pre-drilled holes for mounting to a base (base sold separately)

The Wicked Edge Carbon Pro Pack 1includes everything above plus the 800/1000 grit diamond hones and the 5/3.5 micron strops.
The Wicked Edge Go (Model WE60) has been redesigned from the bottom up to accommodate more knife styles, provide smoother clamping, easier angle setting and operate with even more precision.
The redesigned Standard Vise Law allows easier clamping on fully flat ground and distally tapered blades frequently found on kitchen and pocket knives. These models are lightweight and compact for easy storage or travel. They can be secured to any hard, flat surface with the included C-clamp or mounted to a work surface through the predrilled holes in the base. We also give you the option to buy it with a base or you can simply make your own base out of wood. The Wicked Edge GO (Model 60) includes the following features:
    Price: $275
  • Include 200 and 600 Grit Diamond Stones
  • Guide Rod Length - 8.75 inches
  • Max Blade Length - 15 inches
  • Angle adjustment to any increment from 13 to 31 degrees
  • C-clamp included for mounting to a work surface
  • Pre-drilled holes for mounting to a base (base sold separately)

The Wicked Edge Go Pro Pack 1includes everything above plus the 800/1000 grit diamond hones and the 5/3.5 micron strops.
The new Gen 4 Pro is a redesign of the popular Gen 3 Pro. It has been redesigned from the bottom up to accommodate more knife styles, provide smoother clamping, even easier angle setting and operate with even more precision.
There are four variations of the Gen 4. The Model 400, 401, 410 and 411. All Gen 4 Models include the following features:
  • Cam-Lock Vise Jaws
  • One-Step angle adjustment

The most significant difference in the models is some include a storage shelf and some do not. The other differences are the angle adjustment increments and the angle range.

The Model 130 is my favorite model. I have never had a customer who was disappointed with this model and I sold a lot of them. Although it has been discontinued we still have several of them in stock. It features the Cam Lock jaws which make it easier and quicker to mount your knife. The Cam Lock jaw is ideal for accommodating a wide variety of knife grinds, including fully flat, hollow ground blades and distally tapered blades.
