The Pride Abrasive 400/3000  Combination Water Stone was designed to be an all-purpose stone that allows you to accomplish most sharpening tasks with one, affordable stone. At $49.95 it is an exceptional value.
The 400 grit side removes metal quickly and is ideal for repairing damaged and severely worn blades. It can also be used to re-profile or create a secondary bevel if desired. It removes steel at a very fast rate and is significantly faster than other coarse water stones we've tested.
The Pride Abrasive 3000 Water Stone provides a finished edge for most daily sharpening tasks including kitchen, fishing and hunting knives.
The 3000 removes steel at an exceptionally fast rate. It is by far the fastest water stone we've seen in this grit range. We have never seen another stone is this class remove steel as quickly yet still leave such a nice polish. It is fast enough that you can jump directly from the 400 side and it will quickly remove the scratches from the 400 grit.
Pride Abrasive combination stones are well priced, sharpening quickly, and leave an edge you expect from a premium water stone.
They are in a class with high grade Japanese waterstones like Sigma and Shapton Glass Stones.  They perform better than Norton, Bester/Imanishi, Chosera and cheaper imported stones.
